JoAnn Thompson Franklin, owner of Tidewater Physiotherapy, felt it was time to scale back clinic management and devote more time to patient care. Thompson Franklin states, “When making this important decision for the future of our Tidewater family of patients, I thoughtfully reached out to Mark Davidson knowing his clinic offers a similar customized client-centered approach to patient care. I just knew our Tidewater clients would be very comfortable with a transition there.”

Thompson Franklin has been practicing physiotherapy for over 40 years in the public and private sectors and has operated Tidewater Physiotherapy since 1999. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with a special interest in chronic pain management, craniosacral therapy, women’s health, urinary incontinence, and acupuncture.

Davidson feels the two clinics will blend seamlessly together as both businesses have a similar philosophy of treatment and a dedication to community engagement through sport and volunteerism. Davidson states, “JoAnn brings a unique skillset and years of experience combined with a passion for helping people improve their quality of life. We share this passion and are very excited about this expansion.”

Besides Thompson Franklin, physiotherapist Alana Mallett and physiotherapy assistant Susan Bennett will be joining the staff of Davidson Physiotherapy and the physical Tidewater location will close effective March 1, 2023. Other than the location of services, not much will change for clients. Clients can expect to continue to receive quality care by their current physiotherapist and timely appointments. This combining of clinics affords a broadening of services like treatment of urinary incontinence and acupuncture and with the addition of two physiotherapists, wait times will be reduced and the clinic’s hours of operation will be expanded.
